How it began
The East End Trio features: Michael Munzer, Guitar/Vocals; Doug Morrow, Drums/Percussion and Miranda Gatewood, Bass/Vocals.
Mike and Doug met in 2006 when they both performed in a folk/gospel band at their local church. One day, Doug said to Mike, “We should jam!” Equally talented and adept, they made fast friends. Doug’s fateful words led to a partnership that kindled the East End Trio–with an open chair for bass. And, like a Cinderella slipper, quite a few bassists tried on the role over the years. Some were world class. In 2016, Miranda Gatewood slipped right in. She found the duo so pure and authentic that she learned their tunes she’s never played before just to be a part of the phenomenon. Like the pizza box says, ‘You’ve tried all the rest. Now try the best.’
